Oil Racks


Double-sided, sandwich-board style,
painted bow-tie Autolene rack with Autolene Oil quart tins.

All tins on this side are 'Autolene OIL'. The tops of the tins are embossed (Society of American Engineers) 'S.A.E. 40', while the bottoms are embossed 'CANCO'. Bilingual, English and French. In use through 1947 and 1948.

Upper row; 'Autolene MOTOR OIL'. The tops of the tins are embossed 'S.A.E. 40', with both the tops and bottoms embossed 'DO NOT ACCEPT THIS OIL UNLESS EMBOSSED GENUINE AUTOLENE'. Bilingual, English and French. In use through 1947 and 1948.

Lower row; these tins are identical those on the upper row, except they have 1/4" diameter circles at the top and bottom of the tin, at the left of the English side, joined by an arrowed box space that reads 'GENUINE AUTOLENE ONLY IF CIRCLES COMPLETE'. 'THESE CIRCLES PROTECT YOU AGAINST SUBSTITUTION'. In use through 1947 and 1948.
